What is the easiest way to know exactly how much you should be eating?

Instead of guessing how much you should be eating, use Dr. Trina’s Portion Control Plate. One-half of your plate should consist of fruits and vegetables. One-fourth of your plate should consist of 100% whole grains such as 100% whole-wheat bread, 100% whole-wheat pasta, or brown rice. The remaining one-fourth should contain a good source of protein, such as beans or omega-rich fish. For simplicity, a rough estimation of one serving-size is about the size of your fist. This plate will serve as a constant reminder of what you should be eating and how much you should be eating. It will also help you keep tabs on your hunger scale. If you are satisfied, but everyone around you is eating, the plate will remind you that you are truly satisfied. Lastly, the plate encourages increased movement, the other part of the equation to leading a healthy lifestyle.
